Citizens of these countries must obtain 'entry clearance' (a visa) from their local British Embassy or High Commission before travelling to the UK. They must show:

 

  • an Acceptance Letter from the College confirming that tuition fees have been paid (preferably in full).
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses without the need to work or recourse to public funds.
  • They may be asked to attend an interview at their local British Embassy or High Commission. See below.

Entry Clearance Interview


An Entry Clearance interview may be requested as part of the process to obtain a student visa. An Entry Clearance Officer will conduct the interview which can be from 5 to 30 minutes in order to determine whether the applicant is:

 

  • serious about the chosen course of study,
  • well informed about the course and how it will be beneficial to their career,
  • confident, well presented and has an adequate command of the English language and entry requirements for the chosen course,
  • intending to return to their home country upon completion of their studies,
  • aware of the cost of living as a student in the UK and have evidence of those funds.
     

The Entry Clearance Officer will want to see the following documents:

 

  • A valid passport
  • Educational qualifications
  • A Letter of Acceptance and other documentation fom the College confirming tuition fees paid
  • Documentation showing that you have sufficient funds to support your living expenses for the period you are in the UK.
